How to keep up with your french over Thanksgiving break?

With Thanksgiving break around the corner, a lot of my students are asking me: how will i not loose my freshly acquired skills during my week off?

Of course I won’t let my students leave without homework and practice materials! My survival kit over holidays will definitely lie in a massive oral comprehension practice. keeping French in your ear when you cannot have your weekly meetings with your teacher is the best. My recommandations for this years Thanksgiving break :

Le Bazar de la Charité on Netflix

Netflix will be your best friend over this Thanksgiving break! It offers a great variety of shows available in french with french subtitles. What a better way to join pleasure to practicing your french skills? I chose Le Bazar de la Charité because it’s the easiest show to understand for beginners or elementary learners. Actors speak slow enough to be understood and you don’t find too much slang that will getting you lost in the action.Of course, Emily in Paris is also a hit! But I will recommend it more for advanced learners as the language is very familiar and spoken in a very Parisian way lol. Parisians speaks faster and are less clear than people from other regions. But let’s definitely add Emily in Paris to our watching list!

Here you go my dear students! You’re totally ready to spend an amazing Thanksgiving break without loosing any of your French skills!I wish you an amazing time with family and I’m giving thanks to have such amazing students!
